Afew years ago, I predicted that after a period of brands offering more exotic or spirited hues as primary colors for luxury timepieces, eventually, a black-toned watch would debut and feel comparatively special. About 20 years ago, an interesting trend in the watch industry resulted in a huge volume of “all-black” watches being released. While it was not only Jean-Claude Biver’s Hublot that promoted the black-on-black watch trend, his fervor and energy inspired much of the industry to focus on black-colored site fake watches. Rather than focus on price competition, Audemars Piguet transformed as a brand, positioning itself somewhere between a private club and a jewelry/fashion house where the price of their goods was of secondary importance to what types of famous and powerful people were seen wearing their products. Audemars Piguet thus focused less on pure experimentation and more on refinement and beauty. The 42mm-wide case is water-resistant to 100 meters and is 15.3mm thick. In any event, most watch lovers can agree that while there is little entirely new here, Audemars Piguet continues to make a very handsome and satisfying men’s sports watch design that entirely fits within a luxury lifestyle rubric. That latter part is necessary for the Audemars Piguet brand given their current sales and marketing strategy. As I said before, you can certainly get a finely Swiss Made luxury sports watch in ceramic on a black ceramic bracelet for less money (a lot less money). Though it perhaps won’t be nearly as refined or iconic (i.e. desirable) as what the noble Audemars Piguet can offer. I’m personally excited to get this watch on my wrist and determine is Audemars Piguet has indeed made “all-black luxury fake watches great again.”
